Beef & Sweet Carrot “French Onion” Casserole
A rich slow-cooked beef casserole with sweet carrots and onions, inspired by French onion flavours.

Ingredients
1.5 kg diced stewing beef
900g carrots, thinly sliced
600g onions, sliced
20g Bisto Professional Beef Bouillon Powder
2.0L water
40ml rapeseed oil

Method
Step One
Lightly seal beef in rapeseed oil, then remove and set aside.
Step Two
Gently cook onions and carrots until softened and naturally sweet.
Step Three
Return beef to the pan.
Step Four
Dissolve Bisto Beef Bouillon Powder in water and add to the pan
Step Five
Simmer gently for 1 hour 45 minutes–2 hours until beef is tender.
Tip
Carrots naturally enhance sweetness and reduce the need for additional seasoning or sugar.
