his month, 15 care homes across the UK received celebratory rose plants for their gardens, thanks to a bespoke competition, from Premier Foods in partnership with Brakes.
Hollins_Park_Care_Home.jpgIn the lead up to the King’s Coronation, we launched an inspirational dessert-trolley recipe guide for the celebrations, with a free prize draw to win memory roses to mark the occasion. The guide, aimed at helping to take the pressure off care home chefs’ shoulders, contained new ideas to elevate classic vintage desserts. To enter the competition, care home chefs had to simply register their details when making their product orders on the Brakes website.

Fifteen care homes were selected at random to win celebratory rose plants to inspire the creation of a memory garden for residents.

Sarah Robb, foodservice marketing manager, Premier Foods Foodservice said: “The King’s Coronation was such a historical event, we wanted to help care home chefs create something really special.  As home to some of the nation’s best loved dessert brands, it was the perfect opportunity to inspire chefs with ideas and simple swaps that could be used not only for the celebrations, but throughout the year. We’ve had some fantastic feedback from the care homes and the winners of the prize draw are delighted with their prizes.  The roses are a wonderful reminder of a very special event, that can be enjoyed by both staff and residents.”
