Classic Chicken Katsu

Ingredients

10 x 80g breasts pieces
1kg Sharwood's Japanese Katsu Cooking Sauce
50ml oil
100g plain flour
2 eggs
100ml milk
300g panko breadcrumbs
500g rice

Method

Step one

In a large mixing bowl add the chicken fillets in 200g Sharwood’s Japanese Katsu Cooking Sauce to coat and season the chicken, cover, and chill for 20 minutes.

Step two

Dip the chicken fillets. first in the flour, then in the eggs and milk and finish with the panko breadcrumbs.

Step three

Dip the mushrooms and tofu, first in the flour, then in the soya milk and finish with the panko breadcrumbs.

Step four

To cook the chicken, spray with oil and oven bake. Cook to a core temperature of 75°C.

Step five

In a saucepan, heat the remaining Sharwood’s Japanese Katsu Cooking Sauce to simmer.

Step six

Place the cooked chicken into a serving dish with the Japanese Katsu Cooking Sauce on the side and serve with rice.
